Our story

The hotel that opened Byblos to the sea

When Ahiram opened its doors in 1963, it was the very first hotel in Byblos. Travellers came for the old harbour and the Phoenician ruins, and stayed for the view. Six decades on, the same family still runs the front desk, still serves breakfast over the water, and still knows the regulars by name.

Not much has changed about what matters here: a warm welcome, a clean and comfortable room, and a balcony that looks straight at the Mediterranean. The castle, the souks and the fishing port are all a few minutes' walk from the door.

What our guests remember

We opened the balcony doors and the sea was right there. Watched the sun go down with a glass of wine and did not want to leave. The family who run it could not have been kinder.

The location is unbeatable. Five minutes to the souks and the castle, and a real beach right below the hotel. Breakfast on the terrace every morning was the best part of the trip.

A simple, honest hotel with the most beautiful view in Byblos. We have stayed three times now and it feels like coming back to old friends.
